Cátedra del Mar: Centre for Innovation

The Cátedra del Mar: Centre for Innovation is an initiative promoted by Marina Port Valencia, in partnership with the Polytechnic University of Valencia, the University of Alicante and Valencia Port Authority, with the view of positioning the city of Valencia as a benchmark in marine innovation, sustainability and blue economy in the Mediterranean.

The Centre for Innovation will foster research projects using state-of-the-art technologies, digitisation of the marine environment and specialised training for companies and professionals in the yachting and maritime industries. Its mission is to promote a responsible management model that balances environmental sustainability, economic efficiency and technological development.

Its main lines of work include the decarbonisation of the yachting industry, the development of ecological restoration projects, the creation of a map of sustainable initiatives in Mediterranean marine areas and the preparation of technical studies to support the management and conservation of the marine environment.

The Cátedra del Mar: Centre for Innovation will be a benchmark hub for marine innovation, bringing together academic institutions, public authorities and companies to generate knowledge and promote sustainable solutions for the protection and management of the marine environment.
