Marina Port Valencia CEO honoured by Yacht Moving at luncheon focused on sustainability and maritime development
Marina Port Valencia reaffirms its roadmap with 2033 goal to create a cutting-edge and environmentally friendly marina

Marina Port Valencia is fast developing its role as a key economic, social and sustainable force along Valencia’s waterfront. The iconic Veles e Vents Building yesterday hosted a luncheon discussion organised by Propeller Valencia, the city’s association of logistics executives and business leaders, under the theme “Marina Port Valencia: A Transformational Project and a Landmark Development for the City”.
The event was attended by Patrick Reynés, CEO of Marina Port Valencia and IPM-IMG Group, who was welcomed by Alfredo Soler, Chairman of Propeller Valencia, and its Board of Directors. During the event, Reynés was honoured in recognition of his outstanding career and leadership in the yachting industry. The award was presented by Isabel Albiach, Manager of Yacht Moving, who praised his leadership, strategic vision and commitment to operational excellence and seamless port-city integration.
In his speech to Valencia’s business and logistics community, Patrick Reynés underlined the need to bridge the historic gap between the port and the wider community, making Valencia a destination capable of spearheading the blue economy in the Mediterranean. “This is a truly transformational project that embraces its maritime setting while attracting innovation, investment and talent”, said Reynés, adding that the facility forms part of a prestigious international network alongside renowned brands such as Marina Ibiza and STP Shipyard Palma, while retaining a distinctly Valencian identity.
The event provided an opportunity to present the company’s roadmap, a comprehensive plan to overhaul the marina.
In 2026, Marina Port Valencia is set to deliver several key developments, including Marina City, an inner basin offering 371 berths for larger yachts; a new security and access control centre at Marina Sur; a unified hub for sailing and watersports; and the revitalisation of Marina Norte’s dining venues. The strategic plan will continue in 2028 with the launch of a 60,000 m² land-based open refit yard, designed to service luxury yachts and create new business opportunities for yachting service providers across Valencia. The marina’s full transformation is scheduled for completion in 2029-2030.
Sustainability featured prominently throughout the presentation, with particular emphasis on the recent addition of NetBoat, a fully electric, zero-emission water cleaning vessel, and the Cátedra del Mar Innovation Centre, a joint initiative with the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the University of Alicante centred around environmental monitoring, marine research and the protection of local biodiversity. Through investment in highly energy-efficient infrastructure, including LEED Platinum-certified developments, Marina Port Valencia is creating a waterfront destination where quality employment, high-end yachting and community life can thrive side by side.
