Sustainability, cutting-edge architecture and leadership: keys to Marina Port Valencia’s expansion as presented at Forbes Nautik event.

On Tuesday, Forbes House in Madrid set the stage for Forbes Nautik, an event that brought together leading figures from the blue economy for a day of conversations focused on innovation, decarbonisation and the ever-evolving role of sustainability in the maritime industry.
As sponsor of this first forum focused on the future of the blue economy in yachting, Marina Port Valencia underlined the importance of developing marinas that work in harmony with the natural environment. Against this backdrop of dialogue around the future of yachting and maritime sustainability, Marina Port Valencia also presented the cornerstones of its project, with particular emphasis on environmental initiatives.
At the event, Patrick Reynés, CEO of Marina Port Valencia, shared the vision of the marina and the challenges faced by the industry in environmental matters. In his speech, he stressed the need to advance towards a model that seamlessly integrates yachting, innovation and the protection of the marine environment.
“We’re working to develop a project that coherently and realistically combines yachting infrastructure and sustainability. We believe that the industry has the chance to evolve towards more environmentally responsible models”, said Reynés.
Another focus of the presentation was the development of new spaces designed around energy efficiency and sustainability, with Marina Port Valencia on track to become the first project in Valencia to gain LEED Platinum certification for its buildings. Patrick Reynés also explained that this approach sets out to reduce the environmental impact of future facilities and encourage a more efficient use of resources.
Beyond the architectural dimension, Marina Port Valencia also outlined its broader integrated project and several of the environmental initiatives currently underway, focused on waste management, water treatment and safeguarding marine biodiversity across the marina environment.
Thanks to its participation in Forbes Nautik, Marina Port Valencia continues to make headway on a project designed to bring yachting, sustainability and marine conservation closer together.
